LEC Accomplishments: 

Over the years, the Latino Education Coalition has achieved significant milestones, including: 
  • Successful Advocacy for HB19-1192: LEC played a pivotal role in advocating for the Colorado Multicultural Education Bill (HB19-1192), leading to its enactment. 
  • DPS Resegregation Report: We have actively engaged with the Denver Public Schools (DPS) community, bringing attention to the issue of resegregation. 
  • Creating the Latino Education Advisory Council (LEAC) in DPS: We have collaborated with LEAC to promote the interests of Latino students. 
  • La Raza Report: LEC’s research and advocacy efforts have contributed to the study and future publication of the La Raza Report. 
  • Community Forums: We have organized and participated in community forums, providing a platform for important discussions on educational equity for Latinos. 
  • DPS Board of Education Candidate Forums: We have played a vital role in hosting forums to engage with candidates and the community. 
  • Goals Capitalizing on Cultural Diversity: LEC has worked tirelessly to achieve the goal of capitalizing on cultural diversity within educational settings.
